SON CARIBE has performed as the opening band for Latin music luminaries and multi-Grammy award winning International Singing Legend and Queen Of Salsa CELIA CRUZ and Latin Jazz King PONCHO SANCHEZ.
As a multi-faceted house band, they've shared the stage and performed with L.A. Bandleader JOHNNY POLANCO, New York Salsero LUISITO ROSARIO, L.A Salsa Singer CHINO ESPINOZA, Miami Bandleader TITO PUENTE JR., Veteran Salsa Singer FRANKIE MORALES, Salsa Trombonist JIMMY BOSCH, Japanese Salsa Singer YOKO MIMATA, and most recently Veteran Salsa Singing Legend HERMAN OLIVERA.
SON CARIBE'S CD Salsa From Hawaii II became a #1 Best Seller in Hawaii, and received ©GRAMMY Award consideration for 2004 Best Salsa/Merengue Album! They were also the only Latin band ever to receive a 1-hour live feature performance on K5 TV's Heineken's Hot Hawaiian Nights! As well, they were the only Latin music band to have been selected and featured in Honolulu Magazine's Music Issue! No other Latin band from Hawaii has ever achieved these accomplishments!
Along with its trademark Latin music, SON CARIBE also performs big band, jazz, contemporary and top 40 music.
